Flavex Naturextrakte GmbH, founded in 1986, is a pioneer in supercritical fluid extraction (SFE). Flavex is extracting herbal active substances, sensitive flavours and fragrances in a gentle natural and clean process, safe for the environment. The private and independent German company is located in the heart of Europe near the border of France and the Be-Ne-Lux countries.
The
company is focused on specialty extracts from a wide range
of botanical raw materials. The products are sold worldwide
as ingredients to the food and flavour, the nutraceuticals,
cosmetics, perfumery and aromatherapy industries.

Technology
The
SFE-technology is designed and constantly optimised on the
base of many years operation know-how. Equipped with state
of the art measurement and control systems the extraction
plants are best suitable for resolving critical separation
problems.

Products
The
lipophilic CO2-extracts are highly concentrated and free of
solvent residues, inorganic salts and heavy metals. CO2-extracts
are practically sterile and need no preservation since they
don’t provide any base for germ growth due to the absence
of water, proteins and polysaccharides.
Unique
CO2-extracts of Camomile and Calendula and specialty oils,
i.e. of Sea Buckthorn seed and pulp are widely used as anti-inflammatory
and bio-active components in creams, sun creams, skin oils,
shampoos and body milk products.

| Extracts
with anti-oxidative properties from Rosemary and Sage are
both improving the product shelf life and they are active
as anti-aging ingredients protecting the skin against UV-irradiation
and environmental stress or retarding sebum oxidation in hair
care products. Extracts
with anti-microbial properties from Hop, St. John’s
Wort and Usnea lichen are caring about sensitive dry and itching
skin with a tendency towards neurodermitic and allergenic
reactions or they are used in deodorising products.

Myrrh,
Sage and other selective extracts improve the quality of toothpastes,
mouth wash and bath products or massage fluids. CO2-extracts
of Ginger, Cinnamon, Red Berries and Juniper are new ingredients
in fine fragrances where they unfold exciting olfactive effects.
